Certain problems are common for the majority of the male population so being well-informed and cautious can save you a lot of trouble.


Not every cholesterol is bad for us. In fact, our own bodies produce just the right amount of it to keep the system running. Indulging in too many sweets and fatty food may cause several health issues, though. Not only do fats lead to Hypercholesterolemia (increased cholesterol), but they also clog the arteries and can result in atherosclerosis and other cardiovascular diseases.

It is for this particular reason that men should pay attention to what they eat, especially after the age of 25. Men are more exposed to danger than women because their bodies produce less estrogen which regulates the level of cholesterol in the blood. Hence, the “good cholesterol” (HDL) found in olive oil, fish, nuts, fiber-fruits and whole grains significantly trims the risks.

Staying physically active cuts down the “bad cholesterol” (LDL) drastically. Vigorous exercise stimulates the blood flow and enzymes to flush out the bad cholesterol from your body. Swimming, jogging, golf, or biking are ideal to keep the cholesterol levels at a normal level.

The prostate is a gland within a man’s reproductive system and it’s responsible for semen production. Although prostate enlargement may cause discomfort, it does not necessarily signify a serious medical condition. However, the symptoms of prostate enlargement should not be neglected. Unlike non-cancerous augmentation, malignant enlargement is a life-threatening condition and the most reliable diagnosis is doing PSA blood test.

Genetics, poor nutrition, and physical inactivity can play a role in running a risk of developing this serious illness. Antioxidants found in kale, cabbage and cauliflower break down cancerous cells and increase the chances of recovery. The same goes for lycopene found in red fruits and vegetables which slows down the cancer cell production.


Nothing impairs a man’s self-esteem as losing hair does. Unfortunately, this problem can become a reality for some men even at a very young age. Going bald does not necessarily have to be linked with genetics although it can be one of the factors.

When they start losing hair, men typically do so around the temples or the crown of the head. This pattern is often called “the male pattern baldness” and in case it’s not hereditary, hair-strengthening shampoos and ointments can be used to stop or at least, slow down the process. Since hormonal disbalance might cause a significant hair loss, maintaining the thyroid gland function can alleviate this problem. However, if a man starts losing hair in patches, that might be a warning sign for a more serious condition so medical advice is strongly recommended.

Staying healthy does not have to be strictly ladies’ preoccupation. With the minimum effort, you can invest in your future and change your lifestyle for the better.
